Just as Russian society is diverse, the feelings about this event will be diverse: despair for some, compassion for others, indifference for many.
In the immediate future, for the maintenance of the Putin regime, Navalny's death will not have a big impact.
On the one hand, all resistance movements had been locked down for several years, and have been even more so since the start of the invasion of Ukraine.
On the other hand, Russian power had succeeded in making Alexeï Navalny invisible to a large part of the Russian population.
While 90% of Russians had heard of Navalny in 2020…
