The towns of Lonnerstadt and Ebach were particularly highlighted in the award ceremony.

According to the district office's announcement, these impressed with an active village community, economic initiatives and cultural activities.

For example, the local history museum in Lonnerstadt is a meeting place for clubs and a social get-together.

In Ebach, social interaction is particularly strong, which is characterized by lively club life.

The community also campaigned for the redesign of the town center and registered for the district competition.

The jury examined the villages themselves

The evaluation commission for the district's own horticulture, headed by Jutta Sulzer, assessed the villages last autumn.

In addition to district architect Thomas Lux and Angelika Schiffer (horticulture and landscape management), the jury also included Johannes Marabini (species and biotope protection), district youth association manager Traugott Goßler and district home care manager Manfred Welker.
