Miesbach now has a youth parliament.

The city council appointed eight members at its most recent meeting, and the constituent meeting has now taken place.

Miesbach – The idea of involving young people in decision-making processes and getting them to help shape things is not new.

Now Miesbach has finally managed to set up its own committee.

The statutes were approved at the end of November by Mayor Gerhard Braunmiller and the city councilors.

Initiator Andi Kempf, family representative Malin Friese and youth representative Christian Mittermaier then once again drummed up the drum for young people to apply.

Youth Parliament in Miesbach Congratulations from State Parliament President Ilse Aigner

Successful, as has now been shown.

A young woman and seven young men have submitted their application and will now form the first Miesbach youth parliament until 2026.

An election would only have been necessary if there were more than eleven applicants.

As it is, the city council has appointed Luce Hirsch, Anton Weidelener, Linus Weidelener, Paul Weidelener, Noah Hormaier, Xaver Bernöcker, Frederik Hilbich and Leopold Mayr-Mautner.

Aigner: Ways to help shape your own city

At their inaugural meeting they received special attention and political appreciation; State Parliament President Ilse Aigner took part.

The youth parliament gives young people a different view of local politics and opens up ways for them to help shape their own city, praised Aigner.

She also likes the fact that Miesbach has provided a budget of 5,000 euros for this.

This supports the democratic principle - especially when distributing financial resources, it often becomes clear how difficult it is to reach agreement.

The members of the youth parliament approach the tasks with motivation, as they made clear.

Last but not least, they have an eye on the skate park in Haidmühl.
