Horacio Zeballos
is already the winningest Argentine doubles player in history with 20 titles
, but he knows that
Machi González
(18) and
Andrés Molteni
(17) follow him closely.
Therefore, having qualified this Saturday along with his teammate
Marcel Granollers
to the final this Sunday at Lawn Tennis takes on special value for him.
The 38-year-old from Mar del Plata, four-time champion of the
Argentina Open,
will play a new final at the
Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis.
He won in 2010 with Sebastián Prieto, in 2018 with Molteni, in 2019 with Machi González, in 2020 with the Spaniard, with whom he will now seek to repeat.
He waits for the winner of the Bolleli-Vavassori clash against Matos-Barrientos.
After starting with some doubts in their debut, having to work to beat the French Théo Arribagé and Fabien Reboul 6-4, 6-7 and 10-3, Zeballos and Granollers showed why they are numbers 11 and 12 in the world and overcame with authority by double 6-3 against the Brazilian Marcelo Melo and the Dutch Matwé Middelkoop to get into a new final.
Horacio Zeballos 🇦🇷 and Marcel Granollers 🇪🇸 are finalists again in Buenos Aires.
They beat Melo 🇧🇷/Middelkoop 🇳🇱 6-3, 6-3 and are going for their second title together here.
Individually, Horacio is in fifth place and Marcel is in fourth place.

Zeballos found the ideal partner in the final stretch of his career.
Together with Granollers he won eight of his 20 titles, among which five Masters 1000 stand out (Canada 2019; Rome 2020; Madrid and Cincinnati 2021; and Shnghai 2023).
In addition, they reached two Wimbledon finals and one US Open final and were also runners-up in the last edition of the ATP Finals.
His pending account is to win a Grand Slam.
