The city of Siegburg recently went viral online.

A Tiktoker talks about her life in the city.

Then even the mayor gets in touch.

Siegburg – In the past few days, the city of Siegburg from the Rhein-Sieg district (NRW) has been targeted by TikToker sophiatokk.

The influencer, who has around 220,000 followers, actually lives in the small town not far from Bonn.

After she spoke about Siegburg in a video, even the mayor spoke out publicly - and sophiatokk definitely didn't expect that.

TikToker sophiatokk talks about her life in Siegburg – “It’s just different and cool”

As the TikToker says in a video (January 23), her original plan was to move to Bonn.

However, she couldn't find an apartment there and so the influencer moved to Siegburg two years ago.

To their surprise, the city of 42,000 does a lot for its residents.

“This city is really grateful for every resident it has and that's why they just give it such an unusual speed when it comes to events like this,” reports sophiatokk.

According to her, this includes the “Super Siegburg Sunday,” during which, among other things, an entertainer on a stage “really heats up the crowd down there and the whole city goes wild,” says the TikToker.

She also reports on numerous fair events in different parts of the city, with snack stands and rides.

Very impressed by all the activities in the city of Siegburg, sophiatokk thought she would “take a look at the events calendar for this year and it is simply 23 pages long,” says the influencer, laughing into the camera.

“I'm actually really happy that I live there now.

I would never move away from there now.

“It’s just a different kind of cool.”

Mayor of Siegburg contacts TikToker - will she now be the city's ambassador?

But the influencer's TikTok video didn't just go viral online - it was also registered in Siegburg itself.

Even in high places: “I can’t cope anymore.

“What’s happening here,” Sophiatokk screams excitedly into the camera.

The reason for this is an Instagram comment from Mayor Stefan Rosemann himself.

It says, among other things: “If you have any ideas about how we can improve our city, please contact me.”

Of course, sophiatokk immediately takes this as an opportunity to make a few ironic and not entirely serious demands on the city in a video - and even sees herself as an "ambassador of Siegburg": "I expect that the 14th May, my birthday, is now a public holiday.

“Then we need our own Burger King,” the influencer says, among other things.

She also suggests that Siegburg could simply rename itself “Slayburg”.

The English word “Slay” means impressive.

“And I still have one question: what do I have to do to become an honorary citizen?” asks sophiatokk full of excitement.

Unfortunately, Mayor Rosemann didn't react to this the way sophiatokk might have wanted.

“Honorary citizenship and a holiday on your birthday will be a bit difficult.

But if you bring your new home forward like this, there’s definitely something left in it,” he said in another Instagram comment.

It will be interesting to see what happens next here.
