Zenner wants to preserve the old town centers, as well as retail and local amenities. Christian Zenner (Greens) will run in the mayoral election in Kirchheim on February 25th.

You can find out what he has planned here.

Kirchheim - Christian Zenner has been sitting on the local council for the Greens since 2020.

He wants to become mayor on February 25th and then give the people of Kirchheim - from young people to senior citizens - more voice and weight than in previous years.

Zenner is 36 years old, grew up in Heimstetten and spent his childhood on Watzmannstrasse.

He and his wife have two daughters and he has been playing for SpVgg Heimstetten 02 for twelve years, where he sits on the board.

“Football offers me the right balance from everyday life when you need to reduce stress or want to exercise.” He has been a volunteer at the “Rülps” club, the alternative youth center, for 20 years.

“Organizing concerts is one of my greatest hobbies, from planning to communicating with the bands in advance, organizing on the evening of the concert and cleaning up at the end.”

Doctorate Veterinarian

After completing his training as a biology laboratory technician in a veterinary clinic, Zenner decided to study veterinary medicine at the LMU.

“Studying was surprisingly easy for me: anatomy, physiology, chemistry, bacteriology – I had already learned many things during my training.” Today, the veterinarian, who has a doctorate, works as a scientist at the TUM in Weihenstephan.

In 2020 he was elected to the local council for the Greens.

“Everything was new to me at the beginning and I was amazed at how quickly the mayor pushed through the resolutions,” says Zenner.

He had expected intensive discussions, but in his opinion there were none.

“I think that’s a shame, because democracy thrives on exchange and constant discourse with each other.

I would definitely change that as mayor.”

At the beginning I was skeptical as to whether it could really work.

But now I get so much positive feedback.

Given the community's tense financial situation, Zenner is also thinking about saving.

“Do we really need so many festivals, celebrations and honors?

Don’t we have far too many staff in the town hall, building depot and economic development department?” he asks.

One of his main focuses is youth.

There are no meeting places for young people where they can meet undisturbed; instead, park benches have been dismantled.

“So they meet in front of the Edeka or in the REZ, where they cause trouble.” According to Zenner, there are hardly any meeting places for seniors either, “the older people of Kirchheim need shopping and meeting opportunities in their area.”

For families, he wants planning security for childcare places and schools.

“We need a transport concept so that everyone in town can get around quickly, safely and cost-effectively, with a focus on cyclists and pedestrians, as well as close-knit and well-timed bus and train connections.”

In view of the many projects, as mayor he wants to “slow down a gear first.

We have to create the infrastructure for the many new residents before we tackle new projects.” To do this, he wants to preserve the old town centers, as well as retail and local amenities.

He wants to renovate municipal properties and promote community-owned apartments and cooperative housing construction.

“Of course, nature and ecology are very important to me; nature conservation creates quality of life.

We have to build natural, ecological and diverse habitats.”

Zenner and his circle of friends have distributed thousands of flyers and meet citizens at information stands.

“At the beginning I was skeptical as to whether it could really work.

But now I’m getting so much positive feedback that I’m convinced I’ll get a majority.”

CHRISTIAN ZENNER – THE CANDIDATE OF THE GREENS AND VFW

Political career:

My father founded the local Green Association, was a local councilor for 15 years and was the third mayor of Kirchheim for six of those years.

Accordingly, I was influenced politically at an early age.

I have been actively involved in the Green Party since 2008 and have been on the local council since 2020

That's why I'm the right mayor for Kirchheim:

I'm committed, dynamic and close to the citizens.

For me, the focus is on the citizens, not the prestige value of a project.

Sustainability and maintenance are more important to me than sheer size.

The people should benefit, not the mayor.

These are my most important topics:

Our local development must be sustainable, social and economic in order to meet the great challenges of our time.

Only if we develop useful concepts for all areas of life now can we continue to live well here in the future.

In order to achieve this, I want to listen to people, take their concerns seriously, take up their ideas and impulses and integrate them into processes.

We also need natural, ecological and diverse habitats - because nature conservation creates quality of life!

Things are already going well in Kirchheim:

We have many clubs, initiatives and people who volunteer for our town.

The wide range of playgroups, lunchtime care, JUZ, neighborhood help and clubs available to all Kirchheim residents must continue to be promoted.

The community thrives on human interaction.

I would improve that:

I would like to modernize the administration and train employees so that citizens' concerns come back into focus.

Projects must be planned in a future-oriented and sustainable manner in order not to place further strain on our finances and our fellow citizens.

My favorite place/place in Kirchheim:

The adventure playground, where I played as a child, where I celebrated as a teenager and as a father I enjoy spending time with the children
