Stephan Keck (SPD) is already the second mayor of Kirchheim.

He wants to be officially elected city hall boss on February 25th.

He is supported by the CSU.

Kirchheim – Since October, Stephan Keck (59) has been running the municipal business as second mayor.

He represents Maximilian Böltl (CSU), who was elected to the state parliament and who proposed him as his successor.

“I am very confident that the people of Kirchheim will elect me mayor on February 25th.”

Social Democrat Keck has been a member of the local council since 2002 and has been deputy mayor since 2020.

He has been chairman of the supervisory board of Kirchheim 2024 GmbH since 2018, which is planning and implementing the state horticultural show this year.

Because Keck is still the construction and project manager for the Feldkirchner company May Landschaftsbau, which carries out many orders for the state horticultural show as well as the municipality, Keck repeatedly had to defend himself against accusations of “cheating”.

“Before I took over this office, we had it checked by a lawyer who classified the situation as absolutely clean,” Keck makes it clear.

He did not take part in or even vote in a single award process in which the May company was involved, “and, like all other local councilors, I only find out the prices after the award.

“You can’t blame me for anything at all,” emphasizes Keck.

Anyone who sees it differently should please report him.

“Then we’ll examine it legally.”

Cleaning doors during the election campaign

Stephan Keck is politically experienced and well-known locally.

He grew up in Kirchheim, is married, has two daughters and four grandchildren.

He has been on the local council since 2002, in the last local elections in 2020 he received the most votes of all local council candidates and was then elected second mayor.

In the current mayoral election campaign, Keck is also relying on a lot of conversations with citizens on the street and at information stands, especially door-to-door visits, which almost won him the mayor's chair in 2014 with almost 48 percent of the vote.

“I've probably already rung 600 doors, especially in the new development areas.

“People are extremely happy that a candidate for mayor introduces themselves in person, and then they especially ask about childcare places,” reports Keck.

Not only do we have to keep new and expanding, we have to protect the old stock and digest the many new residents.

Stephan Keck (SPD)

His motto is: “I like people.” He has always remained true to that.

According to his own statements, he and the SPD parliamentary group played a major role in the successful local development of the last few years.

Promoting affordable housing for people with lower incomes was always a central concern of his.

The construction of modern buildings for the care facilities for children and seniors, a town hall with a community hall and the large local park with a park lake as well as the State Garden Show 2024 are also important to Keck.

His credo: “Plan, build, digest.”

Keck is a candidate for the SPD and is also supported by the CSU, which has decided not to have its own candidate.

He wants to continue and finish many projects in the spirit of his predecessor Böltl, but also bring in his own aspects: “Not only do we have to keep new and further, we have to protect the old stock, digest the many new residents - in schools, daycare centers, clubs, the infrastructure.

I don’t want to use force to enforce anything in the local council, but instead rely on dialogue and joint decisions.”

Keck counters the criticism that the SPD does not appear anywhere on his posters and flyers in a statesmanlike way: “A mayor should be non-partisan and stand for all citizens and parties, which is why I deliberately chose not to do that.

But everyone knows that I have been a social democrat since 1983 and will always remain so.”

STEPHAN KECK – THE SPD CANDIDATE

Political career:

Joined the SPD in 1983, local chairman of the SPD in Feldkirchen from 1996 to 2000, local councilor in Kirchheim since 2002, candidate for mayor in 2008 and 2014.

2006 to 2014 local chairman of the SPD in Kirchheim;

2020 Häufelkönig in the local elections;

since May 2020 Second Mayor;

since October 30, 2023, acting mayor

That's why I'm the right mayor for Kirchheim:

I stand for humane and honest cooperation.

I will use all my professional, mayoral and life experience to preserve the good, develop the future and listen to people intensively.

I will only promise what I can keep.

These are my most important topics:

Our future project Kirchheim 2030 - with the construction of apartments, a local park, the expansion of social offerings for all generations - must continue to be a priority.

But we must not forget our structures: functioning town centers, good roads and paths, modern administration and a climate-friendly energy and heat supply.

By modernizing the commercial areas, we avoid additional sealing and obtain the basis for keeping or attracting new companies in the area.

Things are already going well in Kirchheim, I would improve that:

the local development planning is well planned with lots of greenery and a social share of cheaper apartments and was approved by a referendum with almost 74 percent.

The implementation and consequences of these changes must be continued with a sense of proportion and consistency together with the people who live here.

I will focus more on the people and the many active clubs in Kirchheim, Heimstetten and Hausen.

Everyone who already lives here should continue to feel comfortable.

New citizens should quickly feel at home.

My favorite place/place in Kirchheim:

My favorite place is already the big new local park.

The large sponsorship tree for my four grandchildren is by the lake.

Together we will experience many exciting adventures in the large new “Celtic Worlds” playground.
