A hairstylist shows the correct way to wash your hair/TIKTOK
No wonder that this sign that appears - among other things - on the back of the shampoo and conditioner bottle was lost in our sight.
With the very long list of ingredients and signs that appears there, it is clear that we will hardly notice it.
Even those of us who did notice it must have continued with their daily shower routine (we hope) without trying to decipher what its purpose was.
Now a TikTok user reveals what this sign is for - and it turns out that it provides very important information to the consumer.
Say thanks to tiktoker Denis (@denisephx_official) who shared a short explainer video showing a picture of the back of the shampoo and conditioner bottles, with yellow circles around the mysterious mark.
As you can see, the sign is a small container with an open lid with the letter M on it and a number like 6 or 12 next to it.
While she looks in wonder at the camera, above the picture of the bottles is the explanation: "How old were you when you found out that this means how long you can use this product from the date Did you open it, before it was no longer considered a 'good product to use?'"
Yes, it turns out that this symbol indicates when the product becomes expired from the moment it is opened.
If "6M" appears on the small container, the product is effective for use for six months from the moment it is opened.
If "12M" appears there, then it is effective for use for 12 months from the moment it is opened and so on.
Denise added: "It still blows my mind."
Have you noticed this sign before?

So this is definitely not another piece of marginal information about the shampoo ingredients, but an important warning that can (and should) be used by many of you.
Some even claim that you should write the date you first opened the shampoo on the bottle itself, because you may not remember later how much time has passed since the first use.

Not only Dennis and we here at Vala were shocked.
Tiktok viewers said they were also surprised by the discovery and had no idea what the sign meant.
"I only found out about it today and I worked in a hair salon for a decade," wrote one, and another added: "I'm going to my closet for a moment to look. I never noticed this sign."
This is why you shouldn't use soap and shampoo in your hotel room.
A balding man claims his hair grew back when he stopped washing it.
is that so?
@frickin_dork Replying to @Morgan #greenscreen some questions answered and yes, I did go back to the store and the shampoo has clear signs of being expired #hannahmontana #disneymerch #herbalessences #bargainshopping #shampoo #learningtok ♬ original sound - Rico
The mark may be particularly important when it appears on other products such as sunscreen.
It is important not to ignore it, since after the expiration date the active ingredients in the product begin to break down and may become ineffective - which may lead, in this case, to sunburn in the case of shampoo - to ineffective hair washing.
