Ricardo Monner Sans, one of the lawyers who brought forward the complaint in the emblematic case for the sale of weapons to Ecuador and Croatia during Menemism, died at the age of 87 after an extensive career investigating causes of corruption.
Monner Sans, president of the Civil Anti-Corruption Association, had also participated in complaints against Kirchnerism, such as the Ciccone case that affected former vice president Amado Boudou.
But one of the most important causes was the one that investigated arms trafficking to Ecuador and Croatia, which was born from an investigation by journalist Daniel Santoro in
Clarín
and which affected Menemism.
He also investigated irregularities in Pami and Aerolíneas Argentinas.
He was a renowned fan of San Lorenzo.
His son, Ramiro, was a candidate for president of the club.
"R. Monner Sans was in the public window to denounce what no one was denouncing. Not only that: he silently carried the case of a British mother whose daughter was murdered in Buenos Aires. An unknown case among many others that magnify her figure. Friend, I will miss you," Diana Cohen Agrest said goodbye.
Deputy Paula Oliveto, from the Civic Coalition, recalled her tireless fight against corruption.
"She denounced corruption and played it in moments where it was difficult. My respects and love to her family," she wrote in X.
