- Apparently the trigger was a moment of carelessness: the Ebersberg police reported a cyclist with a shear injury after an accident in Egmating.
On Friday, February 16th, around 1:30 p.m. there was a collision between the athlete and a driver in Jägerweg.

According to the current investigation, the 65-year-old racing cyclist from the Rosenheim district initially rode his bike on the footpath and immediately switched to the road at the end of this footpath.
The 75-year-old district resident was no longer able to avoid the cyclist driving next to her in her car, which resulted in contact and the cyclist then fell, the officials continued

After receiving initial medical care from the emergency services, the cyclist had to be flown by rescue helicopter to a Munich clinic.
There was no visible damage to the car, according to the follow-up report.
The bike was slightly damaged in the fall.
The investigators conclude that the investigation into the accident reconstruction has not yet been completed
