The starting point is Gmund train station, from which you walk along the picturesque Mangfall towards the lake without crossing the charming Mangfall Bridge.
Finally you reach the idyllic Gmund/Kaltenbrunn beach, where a first stopover is worthwhile.

Tour from Gmund to Hainenhöhe
Follow the riverside path to the Kaltenbrunn jetty and the estate of the same name.
Here the signs take you to the Boarhof, from which you climb in a generous arc to Hainzenhöhe.
There you will not only find a small wooden cross, but also a comfortable viewing bench from which you can enjoy the breathtaking panorama of Lake Tegernsee.
The tour is particularly worthwhile now that winter is slowly saying goodbye and we are welcoming spring.

Public arrival and further information
There are various options for returning.
You can either return on the way there or continue your hike to Finsterwald train station, from where you can easily take public transport back to Gmund.
This tour is ideal for anyone who only wants to do a half-day hike but still doesn't want to miss out on a great view.
