Citizens' cooperative buys a third of the Unterdinkelhof open-space photovoltaic system.
Hilgertshausen-Tandern – Bürgerenergie Dachauer Land eG, founded in November 2023, has finalized its first investment.
Those responsible for the citizens' cooperative signed a contract to purchase a third of the Unterdinkelhof open-space photovoltaic system in the municipality of Hilgertshausen-Tandern.
The share of the solar park was sold by Energiebauern GmbH from Sielenbach.
Solar park on the former construction waste dump
The solar park was built on the former construction waste dump in the municipality of Hilgertshausen-Tandern and was opened for use in 2011.
The open-space photovoltaic system, which covers a total of 3.5 hectares, supplies around 380 households with environmentally friendly electricity.
The system built by Energiebauern GmbH is operated by Solarpark UG & Co.KG, in which the municipality of Hilgertshausen-Tandern holds a third stake.
The 2.7 million project was financed by Sparkasse Dachau.
Contract concluded: Altomünster's mayor Michael Reiter, citizen energy director Christian Wagner, the managing director of the solar park Jürgen Pöhlmann, citizen energy director Martin Bednarz, the shareholder of the solar park Peter Fink and Hilgertshausen-Tandern's mayor Markus Hertlein (from left).

“The founding of the citizens' energy cooperative at the same time as the offer to acquire the share of the solar park was a fortunate coincidence.
I am very happy that the citizens’ energy cooperative’s first investment can be implemented in our community,” says the mayor of Hilgertshausen-Tandern, Markus Hertlein.
And the cooperative's board member Christian Wagner adds: "In view of the long-term planning for energy generation plants, we are very pleased to have managed to make a short-term entry into the generation of renewable energies in this way and to be able to offer our comrades an attractive investment opportunity in a timely manner."
There is also satisfaction on the part of the sellers: “We are pleased to be able to create a win-win-win situation for our company, the cooperative and the community with the sale of our minority stake,” says Hans Westner.
Because of the successful start and the acquisition of over 450 members in just under three months, the cooperative can initially finance the investment entirely with equity capital.
Over the course of the year, individual cooperative members will also be able to invest separately in the project via subordinated loans.
