"Following the passing of his beloved wife Melinda, and careful consideration and consultation between Brian, his seven children, Gloria Ramos and the medical team (and in accordance with the family processes implemented by Brian and Melinda), we confirm that the former representatives of the Wilson family LeeAnn Hard and Jean Sievers will serve as Brian's co-guardians," the musician's family said in a statement Thursday.
Gloria Ramos, the woman referred to in the statement,
has been the housekeeper at Brian's house for years

“This decision was made to ensure that there will be no extreme changes to the home and that Brian and the children living in the home will remain there, where they are cared for by Gloria Ramos and the wonderful team at the home, who have been on site for many years helping to take care of the family,” they added.
The family clarified that
the former member of the Beach Boys will still be able to continue enjoying his family and friends normally and participate in different projects
that he currently has.
Likewise, he will be able to take part in all the activities that he wants.
In the court document presented by Brian Wilson's team of representatives, they stated that the musician "cannot adequately satisfy his personal needs for physical health, food, clothing or shelter."
The death of his wife
His wife,
Melinda Wilson
, was the one who helped Brian move forward with his mental health issues.
But on January 30, he died at the age of 77.

According to what the formal guardianship request says, it was she who took care of Brian's basic needs in recent times, where he was already unable to take care of himself.
For the American media, the Beach Boys singer had a written "advance medical care directive", in which he had named Melinda in charge of everything related to his illness.
As the document does not have a designated successor who can directly replace Melinda, Brian's team requested in court that Wilson's longtime representatives, LeeAnn Hard and Jean Sievers, be in charge of ensuring her well-being from now on. .
Their team alleged that Hard and Sievers always had a very close relationship with Brian and Melinda, and always trusted them completely.
In addition, Hard is also in charge of representing Brian in all private acts, business and legal matters, which demonstrates the bond of trust that exists between the two.
It is surprising that they will be the ones in charge of guardianship, and not one of their seven children, of whom five are already of age.
The two oldest, Carnie and Wendy, are the result of his first marriage and are currently dedicated to television and music, with the group Wilson Phillips.
The other five were adopted by Brian and his last wife Melisa after getting married in 1995. The two youngest, Dash and Dakota, are still teenagers and live with him.
The trial is scheduled for April 26.
