On Sunday afternoon (February 18th), a number of reality stars suddenly had a uniform Instagram profile picture.
Behind this is probably the new XXL reality show “The Greatest Player” / “The 50”.
Berlin - Anyone who follows TV personalities such as Patricia Blanco (53), Matthias Mangiapane (40) or Georgina Fleur (33) on Instagram made an astonishing discovery on Sunday (February 18th): the profiles of several reality stars were suddenly emblazoned a photo showing an angular, gold lion mask.
There was no explanation for the time being.
XXL reality show starts soon: Announcement of “The Greatest Player” is imminent
This agreed photo change is probably deliberately planned as the first step in a big announcement.
Because the list of high-reach influencers and television favorites who took part in the profile picture exchange is long, including “Battle of the Reality Stars” winner Serkan Yavuz, “Goodbye Germany” celebrity Danni Büchner, jungle camp participant Cecilia Asoro, “Love Island” Darling Paco Herb, actress Jenny Elvers and and and...
In total, there are probably 50 more or less prominent people involved in the campaign.
There is also a short and ominous announcement video in the Instagram stories of some of those involved.
This shows a person sitting on a throne wearing the lion mask mentioned at the beginning.
The video-on-demand provider Prime Video also shared this clip via Instagram and TikTok - and thus indirectly provides the explanation: The streaming giant has secretly created an XXL reality show under the working title “The Greatest Player” or “The 50” produced.
Their publication is now apparently imminent.

In the show, 50 reality stars fight for a total of 50,000 euros.
To do this, they have to solve the tasks of a game master - presumably the person with the lion mask - in a show.
The show itself is a spin-off of a French game show that has since been adapted internationally.
In the variant “Los 50” (running on Telemundo since July 18, 2023), which is probably produced primarily for the Spanish-speaking world but comes from the USA, the lion figure also plays a prominent role.
The German production is already listed as “The Greatest Player Germany” on

, the world’s largest online database for films and television series.
However, the entry is apparently not up to date.
Because Gigi Birofio and Valentina Doronina, who are still listed as participants, apparently didn't make it into the show.
According to rumors, the two were removed from the production after their heated argument in the “Summer House of the Stars”.
Fans of trash TV shouldn't be bored in the coming months - also thanks to RTLZWEI: The cast of the new "Battle of the Reality Stars" season has now been decided.
