She interrupted “[her] work” to give us an hour of unfiltered discussion.

Hélène Langevin-Joliot, the granddaughter of Pierre and Marie Curie, 96 years old, had not yet spoken out on the controversy which has surrounded, for several months, the future of the Pavillon des Sources (Ve) and the Curie Institute.

The new Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, announced that an agreement had been reached to move "stone by stone" this building, a former Marie Curie laboratory which was slated for destruction (in favor of a new building of 7 floors), against the advice of heritage defenders.

If she does not wish to “put anyone on trial”, Hélène Langevin-Joliot wants to “put the pieces back together before it is too late”.

At the center of his concerns, two questions: is moving the 100 m² building feasible?

If so, will it still be possible to obtain its heritage classification?
