Because he was driving too fast, a 19-year-old lost control of his car on the B 472 near Peißenberg on Sunday morning.
He and his passenger were slightly injured - and were probably lucky that nothing more happened.
Peißenberg - Serious accident on Sunday morning (February 18th) in the Hohenwarter curve on the B 472 near Peißenberg: A 19-year-old driver from the Weilheim-Schongau district was driving his Audi far too fast in this notorious curve around 10:10 a.m. - in Direction Weilheim.
Due to “inappropriate speed,” as the police put it, he lost control of his car.
The oncoming cars were able to stop in time
He first collided with the right-hand guardrail, a spokesman for the Weilheim police station explained to our newspaper, which caused the young man to lose his steering wheel and he also crashed into the left-hand guardrail.
After the vehicle had rotated twice around its own axis, it came to a stop on the road.
The drivers of the oncoming vehicles saw the accident in time and were fortunately able to slow down and stop quickly enough, the police report.
Minor injuries to the driver and the passenger of the same age
The 19-year-old driver of the accident was taken to hospital with shock and minor injuries, as was his passenger of the same age, who was also slightly injured.
According to the police, the Audi suffered total economic loss (around 5,000 euros).
In addition, the damage to the guard rails is estimated at 2,500 euros.
As a result of the accident, the accident investigation and the clean-up work, the federal highway 472 in this area between Hohenpeißenberg and Peißenberg was closed for a total of around an hour on Sunday morning - initially completely, then half-way, as the Weilheim police station announced at the request of the local newspaper.
