Odelzhausen - After an accident last Saturday afternoon on the A 8 near Odelzhausen, the Fürstenfeldbruck traffic police inspection (VPI) still needs some clarification.
When the first patrol crews arrived at the scene of the accident in the Odelzhausen area in the direction of Stuttgart around 3:30 p.m., they saw a black Maserati that was completely damaged.
The high-powered vehicle was obviously thrown across all lanes due to the high dynamics of a collision with traffic facilities and came to a stop in the left lane with the front facing against the original direction of travel.
Based on the evidence, the Maserati, which was out of control, also hit a black Mercedes SUV, which had come to a stop on the hard shoulder about 250 meters from the scene of the accident with severe rear damage.
Of the five occupants of the Maserati, some of whom were very elderly, four were slightly injured and taken to hospital by the emergency services.
The driver of the Mercedes also suffered minor injuries and was taken to a clinic by land.
The VPI estimates the material damage to the Maserati at 20,000 euros and the damage to the SUV at 10,000 euros.
The driver of the Maserati, a 63-year-old from the Munich district, said he was driving in the middle of three lanes at a speed of around 120 km/h.
At the scene of the accident he was cut off by a white car that was about to move from the right to the middle lane.
When he tried to swerve to the left, he “twisted” the steering wheel and his car spun out of control.
The 63-year-old was unable to provide any details about the white car.
Since the VPI's experienced accident investigators also noticed accident damage to the Maserati that could not easily be reconciled with the accident sequence described, the police are now urgently looking for further witnesses who can provide relevant information on 0 89/89 11 80 could contribute to the accident.
The Adelzhausen and Odelzhausen fire departments were on site for technical rescue and securing the accident site.
Due to the large number of injured people, three ambulances, a senior emergency doctor and a rescue helicopter were deployed from the integrated control center.
Due to the good cooperation between the emergency services, the total closure of the A8 in the direction of Stuttgart was lifted after just one hour.
The traffic had meanwhile backed up to the Sulzemoos exit.
