The Trump real estate empire could be saved by former first lady Melania Trump, or his eldest daughter Ivanka.
New York City - Both Melania and Ivanka Trump, who also holds a senior position in the Trump Organization, could be a saving grace for Trump's real estate empire.
The ruling bans Donald Trump from doing business in New York State for three years.
After a month-long trial, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled against Trump.
He and his associates, including his eldest sons Donald Jr. and Eric, were ordered to pay $364 million in fines.
New York Attorney General Letitia James has made allegations that the former president and his company, the Trump Organization, deceived banks and insurers for years to obtain better financial terms.

Trump Organization: Melania or Ivanka could take on central roles
Lawyer Neama Rahmani explained to the US news magazine
Newsweek
that the involvement of Melania or Ivanka Trump could be decisive.
Since Ivanka was originally involved in the case but was later removed from the lawsuit, there is no legal barrier to her taking a leading role.
Melania's former chief of staff, Stephanie Grisham, said that saving her husband's business would likely involve a number of demands from the former first lady.
Melania Trump has not yet commented on this issue.
Grisham told
Newsweek
that Melania was unlikely to agree to such a deal without certain conditions.
"I just don't know if she wants to take on that much responsibility unless she is guaranteed greater control or power."

Trump lawyer criticizes court decision: Trump plans to appeal
Trump attorney Christopher Kise told
Newsweek
in an email: Engoron's decision disregards the law and ignores the facts.
The former US president maintained his innocence on all charges and accused James of trying to interfere in his election campaign.
Kise stated that President Trump will of course appeal and is confident that the Appellate Division will ultimately correct the numerous and serious errors committed by a court unbound by law or reality.
