Lufthansa ground staff go on strike again.
The work stoppage is scheduled for next Tuesday, February 20th.
There is a risk of significant flight cancellations.
Munich - Lufthansa ground staff were only called on strike at the beginning of February.
The result: numerous flight cancellations at Erdinger Moos.
The Verdi union announced the next work stoppage on Sunday, February 18th.
This is scheduled for Tuesday (February 20th).
In an official statement, the union writes: “The warning strike for areas close to passengers begins on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 4:00 a.m. and ends on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 7:10 a.m.
Different times apply for areas not close to passengers, such as cargo or technology.”
Lufthansa strike at Munich Airport: There is a threat of flight cancellation chaos in the coming week
As was the case at the beginning of the month, the reason is group-wide collective wage negotiations.
This once again means significant problems for passengers due to flight cancellations or delays, as all ground employees from maintenance to passenger and aircraft handling have been called on a warning strike to take part in the strike.
Verdi recommends that passengers find out about their flight status early on in order to consider alternatives if necessary.
Just a few days ago, the Lufthansa subsidiary Discover Airlines announced another strike, but the negotiations had already failed.
