“MISCELLANEOUS FACTS” NEWSLETTER N°42 - Every Sunday, find an overview of police investigations and current legal cases.

It was in a chilling climate of insecurity that Parisian tram passengers began their weekend.

During the night from Friday to Saturday at the

“Butte du Chap”

station in the 19th arrondissement, a 40-year-old Sudanese man dressed in a djellaba brandished a butcher's blade, threatening to attack a man who had refused to give him give a lighter.

His aggressiveness required the intervention of two police crews.

Seeming out of control, the man rushed towards the police

“holding a butcher blade in one hand and a notebook with Arabic inscriptions in the other”.

The police responded by

“using their weapon around twenty times”

.

The assailant, unknown to the justice services, died instantly.

In the rest of the current news…

  • A year and a half after the murder of Lola in Paris, justice organizes a reconstruction

This is a crucial step which generally announces the imminent end of a judicial investigation.

A reconstruction of the murder of little Lola took place on Friday, rue Manin, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris where the 12-year-old girl lived with her parents.

On October 14, 2022, his body was found in a plastic trunk, left in the common areas of his residence.

Dahbia Benkired, the main suspect, was present at this reconstruction in order to enlighten the investigating magistrates on her actions on the day of the crime.

So far, this 25-year-old Algerian woman indicted for

“murder and rape with acts of torture and barbarity against a minor under 15 years old”

and placed in pre-trial detention, has not revealed the reasons which pushed her to commit this murder of rare savagery.

THE PROGRESS OF THE RECONSTITUTION

Mickaël Philétas was tried on appeal in Nanterre for

, from February 5 to 15, 2024. YouTube capture

Mickaël Philétas, a “megalomaniac and self-centered”

character

driven by his

“murderous hatred of women”

, was sentenced on appeal to life imprisonment for the murder of his ex-partner and for attempting to kill the new boyfriend and the victim's sister.

The sentence handed down by the court of appeal turned out to be more severe than at first instance, with a security sentence increasing from 18 to 22 years.

THE INTERROGATORY OF THE ACCUSED BY THE COURT

On the night of January 29, 2020, Mickaël Philétas infiltrated Mélanie Ghione's house and stabbed her to death eighty times, going so far as to eviscerate her.

The victim's new boyfriend and little sister, who were also there, survived the thirty or so stab wounds they each suffered.

Psychiatrist and psychologist experts noted in the accused an inability to cope with breakups.

“Abandonment is seen as a threat”,

“it is unbearable for him not to control the situation”.

From the 1,300 videos published on his YouTube channel, a discourse advocating misogyny and violence against

“liar and manipulative”

women , according to him, emerges

.

His frantic fall into this masculinist delirium and

“murderous hatred of women”

was none other than the

“chronicle of a predicted femicide”

VALENTIN PASQUIER

At the trial of the Trèbes and Carcassonne attacks which opened on January 22, the Paris special assize court looked this week into the personality and role of the companion of Radouane Lakdim, the terrorist who died in his criminal journey.

Immediately after the events, in 2018, Marine Pequignot was arrested under cries of

“Allah Akbar”

.

Before investigators, she coldly justified the attack on

Charlie Hebdo

, a response according to her to a

“provocation”

.

And the act of terrorism against Father Hamel?

“I don’t care,”

she blurted.

Four years later, she claims to have

“deradicalized”

.

But the profile of Marine Pequignot remains complex.

STORY ON THE MARINE PEQUIGNOT PARADOX

  • Violence, control and seasons in Méribel: accused of having stabbed to death Valentin Delobel, his partner in front of the assizes

How did Kelly L. come to take a steak knife to kill her companion that night of May 18, 2020?

Was Valentin Delobel, this 102 kg colossus, a

“beaten man”

by the slender young woman of 1m56, as several people around them claim?

And this one, a faceted manipulator?

This is what the jurors will have to work on during the trial of Kelly L. before the Isère Assize Court, which opens in Grenoble this Monday, February 19.

The one who is being prosecuted for

“murder of a spouse”

denies having intentionally killed her partner.

She faces life imprisonment.

Yesterday's fact

Le Figaro of February 16, 1979. Le Figaro

45 years ago, a scandalous affair shook the University of Vincennes-Paris VIII, although it was accustomed to subversive events.

A Marseille doctor filed a complaint after finding his 13-year-old daughter, herself at the initiative of a

“child liberation”

movement , in the company of other young runaways who had taken refuge within the faculty.

The president of the university

“did not consider it useful to notify the police by virtue of the tradition of university frankness

,” noted

Le Figaro

in its edition of February 16, 1979.

The group of minors breaking away from authority, family or institution was accompanied and encouraged by several adults claiming to be educators and not belonging to the teaching staff.

“We don't care about these stories of autonomy or university franchises,” said journalist Max Clos.

It's not about principles.

It's about simple things: a few bastards, under the cover of the university, are trafficking in fresh flesh.

It’s disgusting and no administrative or non-administrative explanation can justify why we let them do it.”
