The war of iron swords also leaves its mark on the field of art and design.

The instability and undermining of personal security sharpened the need and importance of designing the family nest and feeling comfortable at home.

If in the past there was a clear design separation between the spaces of the house, the official living room, the private parents' unit and the children's rooms, today we see a return to shared spaces and greater homogeneity than before in which the boundaries between the personal and the family blur.

Sarit Shani Chai, a multidisciplinary artist and designer, was the first to recognize that the emotional, motor and cognitive development of children is directly affected by the environment in which they grow up.

Shani Chai lives in her path breaking path, dedicating her work to designing for children as a world view and a way of life and designing public and private spaces that balance the need for individuality and intimacy for family and social interaction.

In an age full of stimuli and sometimes threats, Shani Chai creates "islands" of silence, which serve as a place of refuge.

In the Bauhaus apartment on Allenby Street in Tel Aviv, Shani Hai maintains the close connection between the children's rooms and the parents' room. The dialogue between the world of adults, functionality, wealth and elegance and the world of childhood, softness, creativity and imagination.

This dialogue is expressed in the way of designing spacious and generous spaces that invite to host and accommodate the whole family together.

In Beit Haim, a couple of parents, a teenage girl and a young boy, and each on the one hand needs his own fortress, and his own uniqueness, and on the other hand, a feeling of "togetherness", security and family.

Shani Chai: "The apartment was made with a lot of love, and it was definitely a family project. The process was accompanied by dialogue and a number of personal meetings in which we discussed the way of life at home, the motto was the common life of a warm and loving family. We went from room to room and discussed everyone's wants and needs, The children were full partners in the process.

"I have accompanied the family for many years, in fact I designed the girl's nursery, so the relationship between us is based on familiarity and trust.

As far as I'm concerned, the process of home design is cyclical and it's always fun to work with a returning old customer.

The design of the selected rooms is done in correspondence with the Bauhaus style of a Tel Aviv apartment in the city center."

The child's room: "The theme of the room's design was freedom and pleasantness, characterized by the materials and the calm color of a white sandwich and touches of blue-gray. The wide stage bed encourages inviting guests to read and play, and allows the parent and the child to be pampered and cuddled before going to sleep. The careful planning within the limitations of the space and the desire to design a room that will develop With the child, they led to a choice and in the library that also contains the work table and to allow meeting the changing needs, the stage bed was also designed so that in a few years when the child grows up, the mattress can become a double and the room will continue to be relevant."

The girl's room: in the design of the room, it was very important for the girl to participate in choosing the colors, the fabrics and the design language.

The bed is the focal point of the room and the toilet creates an intimate corner that strengthens the preoccupation with femininity and identity.

The parents' bedroom: In the preliminary conversations, a dream arose about a lazy Saturday morning where the whole family lay in bed in the parents' room, the dream came true and a particularly luxurious and luxurious bed was placed in the center of the bedroom.

In addition, a sofa was placed to create an intimate area in the large space.
