A man suspected of having raped an octogenarian was arrested in Penne-sur-Huveaune, between Marseille and Aubagne, and placed in police custody this Sunday morning, according to information from

The thirty-year-old presented as a homeless person is suspected of having entered the victim's home on Saturday around 2 p.m., the front door of which was not locked.
He threatened the 82-year-old woman, demanding her valuable jewelry and money, a police source tells us.
But the victim refused to comply.
The burglar then allegedly laid her down on her bed before raping her, according to the octogenarian's statements.
He stole her cell phone before fleeing.
In a state of shock, the victim took refuge with his neighbor to call for help.
She was able to provide a detailed description of her attacker who was found a few hours later by investigators, not far from the scene of the incident.

, the man was already convicted last January for a burglary.
