A nice catch.
Céline Imart, a cereal producer from Tarn, will be number two on the LR list in the European elections and will carry “a message of roots, skills and renewal”, announces Éric Ciotti in an interview with Le Figaro published on Sunday evening.
Spokesperson for Intercéales, the inter-professional association which brings together producers, cooperatives and exporters of cereals in France, Céline Imart is a farmer with a somewhat original background.
“A brilliant graduate of Sciences Po Paris and Essec, after a career in business, she decided to take over the family business.
A young mother, she is the symbol of this France of work which keeps her country alive,” explains Éric Ciotti.

“Through it, I wanted to give a voice to all those who are fighting, particularly in rural areas, to halt the decline of France,” explains the boss of the LR a few days before the opening of the Agricultural Show and after an episode of agricultural crisis and blockages throughout the territory.
“At this stage, the polls don’t mean much”
“I accepted the challenge to change things on a European scale,” Ms. Imart declared to Le Figaro, arguing that she knew “the constraints that the French undergo on a daily basis.”
Mr. Ciotti says he is confident in the score that the list led by outgoing MEP François-Xavier Bellamy will obtain despite polls capping it at around 8%.
“At this point, the polls don't mean much.
What matters is the dynamic.
Since entering the campaign, François-Xavier Bellamy has been gaining points while the majority list is in free fall.
I am convinced that our list will create a surprise and that we will be in competition with that of the relative majority,” predicts Mr. Ciotti.
