Almost 600 children were born in Wolfratshausen.

Obstetrics is part of the Starnberg clinics.

Wolfratshausen – Obstetrics at the Wolfratshausen District Clinic has been a branch of the Starnberg Clinic for several years.

According to Starnberg press spokesman Petr Leer, 590 children were born in the hospital on Moosbauerweg last year.

This is a decrease of 52 births compared to the very strong birth cohort of 2022.

A total of 3,312 children were born in the obstetric care of the Starnberg clinics, including the Wolfratshausen district clinic.

Of these, 1,684 were boys, just over half.

1628 were girls.

“The Starnberg clinics take second place in Bavaria among the clinics with the highest birth rates,” says Petr Lehr.

Starnberg Clinic: Obstetrics Wolfratshausen is part of the network

The Starnberg clinics are a so-called “Perinatal Center Level II”.

This means that women can give birth in Starnberg from the 29th week of pregnancy.

This is made possible by a children's intensive care unit that is staffed around the clock by pediatricians and specially trained intensive care nurses.

Children with a birth weight of less than 2,500 grams make up around five percent of all newborns in Starnberg.
