First, a Geretsried police patrol discovered the badly damaged ATM building.
It turned out that a drunk driver had caused the accident - without a valid driver's license.
Geretsried - A police patrol first noticed the broken house: On Sunday morning, around 7 a.m., as the police report, a patrol crew from the Geretsried inspection noticed the badly demolished ATM house in Geretsried Stein at the intersection of Steiner Ring and Richard-Wagner-Straße.
“A matching accident-damaged vehicle was soon found in the surrounding area,” writes the police.

The severe damage to the car matched the battered vending machine house.
“The culprit was quickly identified.”
The driver voluntarily gave a breath alcohol test.
This “resulted in a value in the area of relative inability to drive,” writes the police.
Therefore, a blood sample was taken.
The officers actually wanted to take away the 39-year-old's driver's license.
However, that didn't work.
“His driving license had already been revoked six months ago because of a traffic offense,” informs the police.
