Sinner broke his opponent's serve midway through the first set, for 3-2, and that allowed him to control the situation well until the end of that first set.

In the second set the two were less solid with their serve and finally Sinner ruled after just over two hours of play and four wasted match points.

The Italian prodigy adds his name to the gallery of champions of the traditional Rotterdam tournament, which includes illustrious tennis names such as Arthur Ashe, Jimmy Connors, Bjorn Borg, Stefan Edberg and Roger Federer.

He succeeds as champion in the Dutch city the Russian Daniil Medvedev, runner-up at the end of January in Melbourne and who did not choose to defend his title due to foot pain.

THE UNDEFINED STILL STANDS.

It's Sinner's time.

He has 15 consecutive victories - with a record of 12-0 in 2024 - and another 15 in ATP 500. In addition, he won 32 of the last 34 matches and reached 12 titles in his career.

Everything results in him being the new number three in the world.
