Another 26-year-old young man
died after receiving a strong electric shock while stealing
high-voltage
cables
.
Unlike what happened with Ezequiel Francisco Curaba who was electrocuted in Rosario after a day and a half agony;
This Sunday's case took place in
Guaymallén, province of Mendoza.
Police sources confirmed that the incident occurred during the early hours of this Sunday.
Around 2 o'clock, when a 911 call came in alerting of an injured person on a street in the
San Vicente neighborhood
, in the town of Mendoza.
But, when officers from the Puente de Hierro sub-police station in Guaymallén arrived at the scene, they found a
high-voltage cable completely cut
and with
dangerous sparks
and another cable against a light pole, visibly damaged.
A few meters away, and lying on the asphalt, they found
Juan Argentino Gerez
, who had received a severe electric shock after the attempted robbery.
The injured man was
taken to the
Puente de Hierro microhospital.
But, as a result of the severe injuries received from the violent electric shock,
he died minutes after
arriving at the scene.
Local media confirmed that Gerez
did not act alone.
Security cameras detected that
an accomplice who has not yet been identified participated in the robbery
and who is currently being sought by the Police.
Prosecutor's Office 9 intervenes in the case, which has already instructed that the required tests be carried out.
Meanwhile, the body was transferred to the central morgue for the corresponding autopsy to be performed.
One arrested for theft of high voltage cables in Godoy Cruz

The police incident occurred after 7:30 p.m. on Marconi and Garay streets.
Investigative sources confirmed that there, a 27-year-old young man was arrested who had stolen about
10 meters of cable in the middle of a public street
.
A neighbor reported the thief and called 911 and gave the characteristics of the person who had stolen the wiring.
After patrolling the area and describing the neighbor, the police managed to find the subject.
According to reports, upon seeing the police presence,
the criminal threw the cable and a
Tramontina-type knife and tried to flee, but was arrested a few meters away.
A replica of a firearm
with which he had threatened the Police, the stolen cable and the knife in question
were seized .
The case was left in the hands of the local Prosecutor's Office No. 4.
