A historic turning point may be in sight at Paris-Orly airport.
The curfew which since 1968 has prohibited any takeoff after 11:15 p.m. and any landing after 11:30 p.m. - and until 6 a.m. - could be extended to benefit local residents' sleep.
The flight ban could start at 11 p.m.
It is one of the avenues studied by the state, which is preparing restrictions on the airport's operations.
Orly is the only international airport in Europe with such a significant curfew.
But the State could push the cursor further in order to make the nights of Ile-de-France residents a little quieter.
Above all, it is a question of meeting the legal objective set by the Orly 2018-2023 environmental noise prevention plan (PPBE): reducing air pollution by 6 dB between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
