Highlights: The French government has agreed to a deal with the European Commission on a deal to reduce the cost of living in France. The deal would also include a reduction in the number of years a person can stay in the workforce. The European Commission has said it will consider the deal if it is approved by the European Court of Human Rights. The EU Commission is also considering a deal that would reduce the retirement age from 60 to 55. The Commission has also said it would consider a minimum wage increase of 2.5 percent.

Guest of the “Grand Jury RTL-Le-Figaro-M6-Paris Première”, the new Minister of Health, Labor and Solidarity reaffirmed that she “would not touch” the system of conventional terminations.

During this cross-country weekend, the SNCF controllers' strike prevented nearly 150,000 travelers from going on vacation.

A situation denounced this Sunday by Catherine Vautrin, guest of the

Grand Jury

RTL, Le Figaro, Paris Première, M6.

“Systematically taking our fellow citizens hostage during vacation time is not acceptable,”

she lambasted before recalling that if “the right to strike is a constitutional right,” the right to work “exists.”

The minister said she was “very attached to the continuity of public service”, recalling that only two unions had called a strike.

“Each person who finds a job creates a little wealth

The mayor of Charleville-Mézières Boris Ravignon must report to the government in March the conclusions of a mission on the subject,

“I think we are perfectly on schedule,” she repeated.

In order to achieve the objective of full employment, the government's number four deplored a gap of 10 points between the employment of seniors in France and Germany.

“Those who are now 58, 59 years old must be brought into employment

,” she insisted before recalling the expectation of the end of negotiations between social partners in March.

In the short term, the minister rules out the possibility of pushing back the retirement age to try to increase the number of workers between 55 and 64 years old.

While last year nearly 500,000 contractual terminations were signed, the minister ruled out any elimination or reform of the system:

“At this stage this system has proven itself, there is no question of affecting the conventional termination .

Today it’s a good device, I won’t touch this device.”
