Yanina Pérez de la Vega

(42) was doing cleaning work in the Angaco cemetery, in San Juan, when she was surprised by her ex-partner.

There,

Ariel Omar Pérez

(38) killed her with nine blows.

Minutes later, the man exchanged messages with a person close to him.

"I got tired of that filthy thing, I stabbed her like five times,"

he said in the audio with which she would have confessed to the femicide.

This Saturday, however, he was still at large.

The attack occurred on Thursday around 9:30 in the morning.

After hearing the desperate screams of the victim, her co-workers went to help her and took her from that town - located 25 kilometers from the city of San Juan - to the Guillermo Rawson hospital in the provincial capital.

At the medical center she died from her injuries.

A few hours later, Pérez exchanged messages with a close person.

According to the content of these communications, the man confessed to having been the author of the crime of his ex-partner.

Yanina Pérez, the woman murdered in a San Juan cemetery.

"What is said about me,"

Pérez wanted to know after escaping from the cemetery, where he worked as a painter.

"They say you killed a woman," they responded from the other side.

Then came the apparent self-incrimination.

"I was tired of her threats, that filthy thing... I stabbed her like five times,"

was the audio she sent by phone, according to the reconstruction of the newspapers

According to the first forensic report released by the San Juan Police,

the victim's body had at least five puncture wounds:

one in the right breast, measuring 3 centimeters;

another in the right hemithorax of the same length;

another in the abdomen area, 5 centimeters;

a fourth in the left hemithorax and the remaining ribs, in the left area.

In the last few hours it was also learned that both shared work at the Angaco cemetery and that a few days ago they were seen in the middle of a strong argument.

Pérez, who is known as “El Guascazo”, had a history.

In 2020 he had been

sentenced to one year in prison

for the injuries he caused to another ex-partner whom he chased and attacked in the middle of the street.

"Daughter of a bitch, I knew you were going to pay me," the accused said at that moment to the victim of that incident.

Furthermore, he had already attacked Yanina.

In addition, on Monday he had tried to stab a man from the area and "he was only detained for a few hours," said Laura Isabel Vera, provincial delegate of the Housewives Association.

"We hold the San Juan Justice and all the actors involved in the femicide of Yanina Pérez responsible, demanding speed to stop prosecuting and prosecuting Omar Pérez, who ended the life of his ex-partner in an atrocious and ruthless manner," Vera said.

The suspect fled the cemetery on foot.

The Police carried out a raid on his house, where he took his ID, pills and used clothing.

As of this Saturday afternoon, they had not yet found him.

For Yanina's crime, Mayor José Castro decreed 24 hours of mourning in the municipality and expressed his "deepest condolences for the death of the co-worker, Yanina Pérez, who performed duties as Task Coordinator in the Departmental Cemetery." .

For its part, the San Juan Police published a photo of the suspect.

"He is wanted," reads the text that accompanies the image.

They ask that, for any information, they call "the toll-free line 911."
