The Schockerbock shows its effects after just a few minutes: mood and exuberance were guaranteed at the beer tasting of the dark beer brewed by master brewer Markus Langer (back center in the blue and white checkered shirt) for the two Schockerberg evenings in mid-March.

Brewed shortly before Christmas by master brewer Markus Langer, the beer will contribute to the success of Schockerberg in the Jakob-Pfeiffer-Haus in Schongau.

Schongau

– Master brewer Markus Langer almost carefully places the first ten-liter barrel on the improvised bar.

To the side he has placed the glass jugs that he brought from his own collection.

There are rarities, but he doesn't reveal what they are.

Too dangerous.

By the way: Everything from the region is also available in our regular Schongau newsletter.

And in our Weilheim-Penzberg newsletter.

He quickly reveals the most important thing about this year's Schockerbock: In Holzhausen, master brewer Langer brewed the Bock from various dark malts.

He speaks of just over 18 percent original wort and eight percent alcohol.

A first interjection follows from Peter Blüml: “With four halves that’s 32 percent,” is his calculation example.

Caramel and chocolate for color

Langer also brings into play terms such as Hallertau pearl and sapphire, which provide the basic taste and aroma.

Terms like caramel and chocolate are also buzzing around the room, which will ensure the deep dark color of the buck.

Enough theory: the guests are getting restless.

Especially the women of the illustrious group.

You finally want to test the buck.

Meanwhile, Paul Huber has already grabbed the sandwiches and wants to create a stable base for himself.

But who is tapping?

Kellermann “too sensitive”

The answer comes almost faster than the question is asked: “Olly should fix it,” is the wish of the thirsty throats.

This refers to the CSU local chairman Oliver Kellermann, who didn't spill a single drop when tapping the barrel last year.

Kellermann complies with the request: a handshake and the tap is in the barrel. But not a drop flows.

“Olli” had shown too much sensitivity.

Only a powerful punch from the master brewer allows the coveted barley juice to flow into the mugs.

All news and stories can also be found on the Schongauer Nachrichten Facebook page.

“Dark, with creamy foam on top,” is the image that delights hearts.

All eyes are on the jugs being passed forward.

The women in society in particular are demanding quick filling.

Tastes good and leaves you wanting more

A little late, but at least now, Kellermann thought of the important saying: “Ozapft is.” Shortly afterwards, “for the good” and “here’s to a successful Schockerberg.”

The first puffs of barley juice trickle down your throat: “An “Ooh” whispers through the hall, and “it tastes like more,” says Wolfgang Markus.

Next to it is an original sound from Kornelia Funke: “Good as always, especially cool and drinkable.

I’m really looking forward to the Schockerberg.”

Dates: March 15th and 16th

And what does Max Bertl, the mayor of Steingaden, say, who was the only one who came to the beer tasting that evening in traditional costume?

“Very good, leaves you wanting more.

And it makes you want to go to the Singspiel.” Aha, a little mystery has been solved: He will also be taking part in the Singspiel at Schockerberg again.

As already reported in advance, the Schockerberg will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 15th and 16th, in the Jakob-Pfeiffer-Haus in Schongau.

In addition to the tried and tested actors such as Tobias Kalbitzer and Marianne Porsche-Rohrer, two women will be involved instead of Markus Wühr.

Of course you can also look forward to the Singspiel.

There are enough topics.

“One thing above all,” is what you hear from the relaxed group at the beer tasting.

The “Hohenfurcher Fire Brigade Band” will round off the evening.

Of course, the Schongau town band will once again provide a musical atmosphere.

“It’s just part of an evening like the dark goat,” says Kellermann.

And he adds that Simone Schmidt and her team will provide the well-known good cuisine.

Women's duo for “Luigi from Alto Adige” and advance ticket sales

CSU local chairman Oliver Kellermann can bring good news: There is a replacement for Markus Wühr, who is taking a break as “Luigi from Alto Adige” at this year's Schockerberg.

At the politician's derblecken on Friday and Saturday, March 15th and 16th, two women will now appear in his place, namely Barbara Rosenstetter and Claudia Martin.

“Michael Reith made the contact,” reveals Kellermann, as all three play a role in the crime dinner, which is currently being performed again at the Blaue Traube.

We'll be surprised to see what name the women's duo performs under, perhaps as Ratschkathln, according to Kellermann's hot tip.

In any case, the two of them are already hard at work designing something for their performance.

Advance ticket sales

Advance ticket sales for the two performances in the Jakob-Pfeiffer-Haus have now officially begun: tickets can be pre-ordered from Ingrid Steffek - by phone at 08861/3614 or via email steffek-schongau@t-online.de).

The local newspapers in the Weilheim-Schongau district are represented on Instagram under “merkur_wm_sog”.

The reserved tickets can then be picked up on Saturday, February 24th, at the CSU local group office on Blumenstrasse (above the library at Münztor), between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

You can also purchase any remaining tickets there.
