Highlights: The time is so beautiful: “Schlagergang” sings German catchy tunes from the 50s to 70s. “It was only the bossa nova’s fault”, “Lovesickness is not worth it” and “So beautiful was the time” are just four songs out of over 60 that the Schlagergang has in its repertoire. The first performance at the sold-out Gimplkeller in Wasserburg proved that this era also has younger friends: ‘There were two 16-year-olds in the audience,’ says Jonas Frank.

The Schlagergang from Poing brings German music from the 1950s to the 70s to the stage.

And the trio is going on tour for the first time.

Poing – Peter Alexander, Peter Kraus, Caterina Valente, Freddy Quinn, Conny Francis... The list of artists from the 1950s to the 70s who delighted with German pop music is long.

The Poinger trio Die Schlagergang is bringing these times back and is doing a tour for the first time this year, two years after the band was founded.

The kick-off was in Wasserburg, on Saturday, February 24th, the Schlagergang will play at Café Dinzler am Irschenberg, and on March 23rd in the Theaterhalle Markt Schwaben (all dates on www.schlagergang.com).

“Red lips should be kissed”, “It was only the bossa nova’s fault”, “Lovesickness is not worth it” and “So beautiful was the time” are just four songs out of over 60 that the Schlagergang has in its repertoire.

Their tour has the motto “The time was so beautiful”. Anyone who sees the trio in concert will think: “The time was so beautiful”.

The time of the concert when the old hit experiences its revival.

And that live and in color with band founder Jonas Frank (accordion, vocals), Ines Wagner (guitar, vocals) and Thomas Schuh (double bass, vocals).

The oldies bar in Poing is to blame for everything

Jonas Frank reveals with a smile that the three amateur musicians are playing hits thanks to a beer-filled evening in the Oldies pub in Poing.

He performs musically with various formations and loves music from the 1950s to the 70s.

At the musicians' meeting in the pub, it quickly became clear that the other two also loved this music.

The Schlagergang trio was born.

They never thought back then that there would be performances, even a tour (almost 30 performances are planned for this year).

But the fun quickly became more and Jonas Frank, he admits, was the driving force behind live performances.

They put the mostly older audience in a good mood and happiness – and of course: memories.

People quickly tap along and sing along.

“It’s a journey through time with love stories and a lot of humor,” says Jonas Frank about his hit gang’s “So Beautiful Was the Time” program.

The first performance at the sold-out Gimplkeller in Wasserburg proved that this era also has younger friends: “There were two 16-year-olds in the audience,” says Jonas Frank.

Schlager doesn't just make you happy, Schlager connects generations.

Also funny: there are 40 years between the youngest and oldest Schlagergang members.

Schlager knows no age, only joy and friends.
