Three young men will be accused of an armed robbery in the Holyland complex in Jerusalem, during which they disguised themselves as messengers, and forced parents in front of their toddler son, while stealing a luxury vehicle and other property from them.

The police are still investigating the involvement of other suspects in the case.

The robbery happened a few weeks ago, in the Holyland complex in the Ramat Sharet neighborhood in the south of the city.

The young suspects arrived at a private apartment under the guise of messengers, where they violently attacked the family members living there.

They then tied the man and his wife with ropes in front of their toddler son, took the keys to their car and other property, and fled from there.

A little later, the police were able to track down the car that was robbed, driven by the suspect, an 18-year-old resident of East Jerusalem, when it was found near Gan Saker in the city.

The police blocked his path and tried to detain him, but he continued driving and demanded one of the policemen, who was injured in the leg.

In response, he shot at the suspect and wounded him moderately.

Additional forces that arrived at the scene began searching the scene in order to find another suspect who managed to escape from the vehicle in the meantime, and an investigation into the affair was opened.

The investigation revealed that a few days earlier, the suspects got together and prepared to rob the apartment, among other things by conducting a preliminary tour of the residential building.

During the morning of the robbery, they purchased a number of cardboard packages containing various baked goods at the bakery, and these were allegedly used by them later as a cover for their actions.

Towards noon, some of them arrived at the apartment disguised as employees of a courier company.

After they went up to the floor of his residence and the owner of the apartment opened the door of his house, the suspects began to attack him while one of them was holding a gun, with which he even hit him.

After taking control of the man and his wife, when the toddler was with them, the suspects forced the couple and took the keys to the family's luxury car.

Later, two of the suspects went down to the underground parking lot, where they entered the vehicle and tried to start it.

At the same time, two other suspects were waiting in the apartment to make sure that their accomplices were able to start the vehicle, while forcing its owner to hand over the code to the vehicle.

After they succeeded, the remaining two also left the apartment and fled on the scooter they came with.

A week later, the police arrested another suspect in the case, a 17-year-old man from Ras al-Amud, and later another 19-year-old suspect from Silwan was arrested.

The arrest of the suspects involved was extended in court several times in order to gather evidence against each of them.

Apart from these suspects, several other suspects were questioned on suspicion of their involvement in the incident and their investigation is still ongoing.

After all the investigative actions were exhausted and an infrastructure was formed against three suspects, a prosecutor's statement on behalf of the Jerusalem Prosecutor's Office was submitted against them at the end of the week about the intention to submit the indictment against them within the next few days.

Their detention was extended for that purpose until tomorrow.

Corporal Moshe Levitan, commander of the crime-fighting unit in the Zion Jerusalem area, stated: "Immediately after the serious incident occurred, the policemen, with the help of observers from the control center in the Jerusalem district, were able to locate the car that was robbed, and with quick actions, the driver was arrested, while injuring the policeman's body.

The investigation of the case, assigned to the crime fighting unit, led with great professionalism to the arrest of a number of suspects for investigation, the collection of evidence against them and their detention extended from time to time.

These days the work of the investigation against three suspects has been completed and in the coming days the prosecutor's office is expected to submit the indictment against them.

The police of the Jerusalem district will continue to work to eradicate violent phenomena and property crimes, arresting those involved in this and bringing them to justice."
