The Markt Schwabener Theaterverein has once again taken on Brandner Kaspar for this year's open-air plays, but in a completely new version.
Markt Schwaben – The sequel to the comedy classic will be seen in a new production on the traditional lake stages in Markt Schwaben.
Enjoyable entertainment in a unique ambience: The floating stages on the church pond in Markt Schwaben will once again be provided with lovingly designed backdrops for the pond games and will be lively performed and sung about by an experienced ensemble.

“This year Brandner Kaspar returns from heaven to earth,” says director Ferdinand Maurer, who has been directing the Weiherspiele since 2018.
At that time, those responsible relaunched the traditional open-air theater with a new directing and stage concept with the performance of “Brandner Kaspar and eternal life”.
This year's sequel is based on this.
In “Brandner Kaspar 2: The Brandner returns,” author Wolfgang Maria Bauer lets the well-known staff from heaven and earth celebrate a happy resurrection.

What is it about?
It has now been six years since Brandner Kaspar went to heaven.
But he is not completely satisfied with everyday life in eternity.
Every day only white sausages and beer - he imagined paradise to be more exciting.
When he looks wistfully through the heavenly telescope at his beloved Bavaria, the boredom is over.
A theft, even a murder, is in the offing in his home village!
Kaspar has to prevent this - and only one person can help him: Boandlkramer!
“We are showing a tongue-in-cheek, ambiguous story – peppered with musical interludes – about love, suffering, the beauty of the world and human nature,” says Maurer, looking forward to what the audience can experience for five weeks in Markt Schwaben next summer.
Theater club celebrates 40 years of Weiherspiele
“This year is a very special year for the theater club,” says board member Michael Siegert, who is once again taking care of the stage conception, “because we are celebrating 40 years of the Weiherspiele.”
This anniversary will be honored as part of the accompanying program with a special event that will look back on four decades of open-air theater in Markt Schwaben.
In addition to Siegert and Maurer, Christa Hermannsgabner is again taking a leading role in organizing the Weiherspiele.
With the club's youngest actors, she brings the well-known Grimm's fairy tale “The Frog Prince” to the stage in a version by Stefan Vogel as a children's theater - by children for children.
In addition to two afternoon performances for families, a morning performance for schools in the region is also planned.

“The Frog Prince” (children's theater) runs Saturday/Sunday, July 13th/14th, starting at 3:15 p.m., Friday, July 12th, starting at 10 a.m. (school performance)
