The Wolfratshauser Castle Association has regrouped.

He recently presented his annual program.

Wolfratshausen – On April 7, 1734, the castle of the Counts of Wolfratshausen exploded.

Exactly 290 years later, the castle association invites you to an archaeological tour of the archaeological monument located above the mountain forest.

The excursion led by Markus Fagner is one of the highlights of the annual program, which the newly elected chairman Michael Ballon, newly elected in autumn 2023, recently presented in the Burgschenke.

New momentum for volunteers

“We want to get the castle club back on track,” promised Ballon.

In the future, the medieval friends will meet every first Tuesday of the month in the self-run cellar bar at the end of the Wolfratshauser Humplgassl.

In this context, Ballon will give the lecture “Food in the Middle Ages” on March 5th at 7 p.m.

Guests of the castle tavern can find out how good the pastries “nun’s farts”, lard or mead taste at the regular knight’s dinners.

Sword fights, children's archery and fire show

The medieval group “Lupi Albi”, which has been part of the club since 2019, offers historical crafts on the four market Sundays.

The club will celebrate its 12th anniversary on May 4th from 7 p.m. in the Burgschenke.

The members want to present themselves more spectacularly at the community festival on June 15th.

“Sword fights, children’s archery and a fire show are planned,” announced secretary Florian Fischer.

He himself will provide theoretical background knowledge in his lecture on “Weapons and Armaments Science” on October 1st.

Trip to the castle festival in Burghausen

Archaeologist Markus Fagner will draw the arc “From Motte to Castle” on June 4th.

A trip to the castle festival in Burghausen (July 13th), the “True Sign” campaign on Open Monument Day (September 8th) and the rock concert by “Mayhem inc.” as part of the Wirtefest on September 14th round off the annual program .

Now the club is just thinking about what it wants to do on April 7, 2034, on the 300th anniversary of the powder tower explosion at the castle of the Counts of Wolfratshausen.

“There will probably be a real explosion,” joked club chairman Ballon.
