TBM, the operator of the Bordeaux public transport network, is alerting users to a scam circulating on social networks.

Le Figaro Bordeaux

Is there a good plan allowing you to travel via Bordeaux public transport for 2.35 euros per year, as offered by the “Carte de transport Bordeaux” Facebook page?

Transport Bordeaux Métropole has formally denied this on X (formerly Twitter), since last Thursday, while several Bordeaux users have already been fooled.

“For several days, an illegitimate page has been promoting TBM subscriptions on Instagram and Facebook at an excessively low price.

This page is FALSE, and these sales are of course a SCAM

,” communicates the operator.

Before adding:

“This is an opportunity to remember that excessively attractive prices are often a sign that there is a trap: beware!”

This last remark sparked some reactions among Internet users who, for some, do not hesitate to demand free transport, as Montpellier recently chose to do for its residents.

“If you want people to stop visiting this page, I tell you, offer even lower prices

,” says one.

“And not make any money?

You shouldn’t mess around…”

, adds another.

And TBM responded:

“Without money, there will be a time when we will no longer be able to pay for vehicles, fuel, maintenance, agents, or anything

. ”

If steps have already been taken to close the fraudulent site, TBM still invites users phished online by this scam to report it.
