Feinkost Moser has given up its offer on Rosenstrasse in Tegernsee: too few customers had bought from the cart.

The location in Gmund is doing well.

Tegernsee/Gmund

– Every Wednesday, many Tegernsee residents and some other valley residents took the Tegernsee Rosenstrasse to Kalterer Platz.

In the morning the sales van from Feinkost Moser from Miesbach was parked there.

Customers could stock up on fresh fish and seafood, delicatessen salads, antipasti, ready meals and lots of cheese.

Feinkost Moser traveled to Tegernsee every week for around 25 years.

Sometimes other drivers offered company with an offer of fruit and vegetables, but for about ten years only the Moser car was on Rosenstrasse on Wednesdays.

Since the beginning of the year, company boss Isabella Moser has also canceled her stand with the city.

“We’re really sorry, it was really difficult for us,” says junior boss Victoria Moser (32).

“But the Tegernsee stand was no longer profitable.” In relation to the increased costs for all products, there was simply not enough profit being made in Tegernsee, she says.

“And not just since yesterday.” The Corona period alone was extremely difficult.

“Older people didn’t leave the house anymore, and there weren’t enough tourists, who are also our walk-in customers,” Moser notes in retrospect.

She also noticed that the weakening of the local business community was also noticeable on the market cart.

“It was a difficult step because we also had regular customers in Tegernsee,” regrets Moser.

She also cites a lack of staff as a reason for canceling the stand.

With two more full-time employees, the family business, founded in 1965, could serve many more vehicles and locations for which there are also inquiries.

But because of the number of existing employees, more is not possible.

Until some time ago, the Moser car could also be found in Bad Wiessee on Wednesday afternoons.

This offer was also discontinued due to a lack of staff.

No market in Tegernsee for the time being

Feinkost Moser currently serves 25 markets per week with five sales vans.

In the Miesbach district, the Thursday market in Miesbach and the Holzkirchner market are particularly popular every Wednesday and Saturday morning.

Business in Gmund has developed surprisingly positively, reports Victoria Moser.

Every Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., the company meets the needs of its customers together with three other Fierants who offer bread, Italian delicatessen as well as fruit and vegetables.

The fact that the Gmund farmers market moved from the Volksfestplatz to the train station due to construction work was obviously a wise decision.

“The market is going well and has developed nicely,” reports the junior boss.

Not only locals, but also customers passing through and train passengers would use the market to shop.

The positive response to the new location has also reached the community, which concludes the stand space contracts with the fierants.

“If the station area is being remodeled soon, we will have to discuss a temporary alternative with the stand operators,” says managing director Florian Ruml.

“In the long term, the location at the train station is probably best.”

However, the market offering in Tegernsee looks bleak.

“The city council will probably have to discuss this at some point,” says managing director Hans Staudacher.

“But given the low level of customer response recently, it probably won’t work for the time being.”

Instead of Tegernsee, Moser has recently started driving a fish cart to Bad Tölz's market street every Wednesday.

Victoria Moser reports that there is already a cheese cart there.

“Because a delicatessen colleague gave up his location there, we accepted the offer from the city of Bad Tölz.” Gr
