A 37-year-old woman, eight months pregnant, died yesterday after feeling ill at home in Pistoia.
She was urgently transported to the San Jacopo hospital, the doctors tried to resuscitate her for a long time, to also allow the birth of the little one by caesarean section, who, as reported today by La Nazione, is now at the Meyer pediatric hospital in Florence, in serious conditions.
The 37-year-old, a nurse by profession in Prato and a volunteer at the Misericordia of Pistoia, died last night around 10pm.
The health workers: "Everything possible has been done"
"A very serious, painful and sudden event in the face of which all the operational, local and hospital structures were alerted and did their utmost to save the life of the young patient and her child. Despite the interventions in emergency and urgency the young woman died and her little one is hospitalized with a reserved prognosis at Meyer".
Thus, in a note, the Central Tuscany Local Health Authority and the health workers of the San Jacopo hospital expressed "heartfelt condolences and closeness" to the family of the 37-year-old.
The health authority also specifies that "a diagnostic test will be arranged for the young mother to trace the causes of death".
