A 14-year-old minor has died in Getafe (Madrid) after drinking a can of an energy drink that contained about two grams of

tusi

, popularly known as

pink cocaine,

which other young people gave him on Friday night, as reported by Europa Press. from police sources and the victim's environment.

The National Police is investigating what happened as a crime of homicide and, once the suspects are identified, the case will be in the hands of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.

The victim was around the Los Espardales metro station, in the Madrid town, with two other friends when he was approached by other young people he had met through social networks.

Apparently, according to the complaint, the boys poured the psychoactive substance into the drink can without the minor realizing it, and then fled through the subway.

They recorded everything in a video that they posted on social networks, counting the act as “a feat” and making fun.

The 14-year-old boy drank from the can and, in a matter of minutes, fell to the ground after suffering from poisoning.

Paramedics and police officers arrived at the scene and notified the family members.

The intervention was reported in Summa 112 as a cardiorespiratory arrest, according to Europa Press.

Although they tried to resuscitate the boy, he died.

The victim's parents have already filed a complaint with the Police, who are investigating and looking for those responsible.

Tusi

or pink cocaine

is neither cocaine nor 2CB, but a mixture of several substances.

The most common mixture is ketamine, MDMA (ecstasy) and caffeine, according to a report by the organization Energy Control, which works to make drug consumption safe.

Energy Control has analyzed 124 samples of this narcotic between June 2021 and April 2023 in Spain, of which 40 are samples in Madrid.

Although it is usually sold as an “exclusive product”, it is a common drug that is sold at high prices: a gram cost up to 100 euros in 2022. In contrast, the same weight of normal cocaine was sold for 60 euros, according to a report by the Spanish Observatory of Drugs and Addictions (OEDA).

The risk of

cough

depends on the proportion of substances in the mixture and what other drugs it is ingested with.

For example, if a person snorts a mixture high in ketamine and also drinks alcohol, the depressant effects of both substances will be enhanced.

This can lead to loss of coordination, sedation, and fainting.

If ecstasy predominates, its combination with alcohol increases dehydration of the body and increases the risk of suffering from heat stroke.

Energy Control reports that 4 out of every 10 people who came to their services to analyze their samples had not consumed

tusi

before.

Tusi is a drug widely used in some Latin American

countries

but, at the moment, its use is still residual in Spain.

A month ago, the National Police dismantled a criminal organization in Vallecas that operated a

pink cocaine laboratory

with the capacity to produce 20 kilograms of this synthetic drug.

In the operation, 11 people were arrested and 72,000 euros in cash, a firearm and eight vehicles were seized.

In addition, three kilograms of cocaine, 12 kilograms of ketamine, six kilograms of ecstasy pills, 19,500 doses of LSD and other synthetic drugs were found.
