At the ESC preliminary round, not only the acts but also presenter Barbara Schöneberger provided entertainment.
However, she missed the mark when it came to winner Isaak's companion.
Berlin – On Friday evening (February 16th) the time had come: Germany was allowed to choose in the ESC preliminary round which act should compete in Malmö.
Nine were available to choose from: Ryk (34), Bodine Monet (23), Max Mutzke (42), Leona (20), Isaak (28), Galant, NinetyNine (24), Marie Reim (23) and Floryan (28).
Surprisingly, Isaak ultimately won the race.
He was also happy to receive support in the studio.
When this was presented, presenter Barbara Schöneberger (49) made a mistake.
Faux pas in the ESC preliminary decision: Barbara Schöneberger addresses the wrong audience member
Very few people would have thought that Isaak would win the ESC preliminary round.
Marie Reim and Max Mutzke were considered favorites.
His wife Loreen should be particularly happy about this.
She was even there for the preliminary decision and kept her fingers crossed for him on the ARD show.

Loreen was actually supposed to be interviewed by presenter Barbara Schöneberger.
But the entertainer probably didn't bother to take a closer look at her guests beforehand.
“Now I’m happy to meet a woman – namely Loreen.
That would have to be you.
Are you Loreen?” she asked and approached a woman in the audience – but she shook her head.
“No,” said Schöneberger and looked around confused until she was apparently given further information.
“Ah, one more.
“Sorry,” she finally stated and hurried to the next block of spectators.
Audience laughs: Barbara Schöneberger takes her ESC mistake with humor
The viewers apparently didn't hold this mistake against the likeable presenter.
Laughter rang through the studio.
And Schöneberger also saved the whole thing with her humor.
The blonde made a derogatory gesture towards the lady she had mistakenly addressed and simply said: “Your two seconds of fame.”

Florian Silbereisen (42) was also there as a star guest.
However, the pop star's presence was in jeopardy shortly before the show.
Despite the operation and in pain, Florian Silbereisen came to the studio for the ESC preliminary decision.
