In the first three years of activity of Zero, the cleantech accelerator of the national CDP network, thirty startups whose development was supported, were selected from over 850 applications from over 50 countries, and raised a total of over 3 million euros.

These are some of the results illustrated by Cdp Venture Capital and its main partner Eni, through its Joule business school, at the “Demo Day: 3 years of impact innovation” event.

In particular, in the third edition of Zero, 11 startups were accelerated, with innovative solutions ranging from the energy efficiency of spaces and environments, to the development of new materials from industrial waste, up to the implementation of energy communities and ESG certification.

“Zero inaugurated the national accelerator network, an innovation infrastructure which today has 18 operational accelerators and one on the launch pad throughout the country, which have overall contributed to the development of 300 new businesses and brought together more than 185 partners and investors in most strategic markets for the country", comments the CEO and general director of Cdp Venture Capital, Agostino Scornajenchi.

“In these three years of activity as part of the acceleration program – declares the head of Joule, Eni's school for business, Mattia Voltaggio – we have seen over thirty startups operating in the cleantech sector and initiated five experimentation agreements with Eni's business lines, in different sectors.

We have always had the opportunity to involve our people in the selection, mentoring and solution testing phases, producing a positive 'osmosis' effect in terms of technological development but also of entrepreneurial mindset".

"We also did it - adds Voltaggio - within an iconic place, that of the Gazometro di Roma Ostiense, which Eni has begun to transform into the Rome Advanced District, a space for technological experimentation on new energy supply chains". Together with Cdp Venture Capital, co-invest in the accelerated startups LVenture Grou and the Elis consortium, which also take care of the acceleration program. “Zero is a catalyst for the development of startups in an area, cleantech, crucial for the ecological and digital transition of our production system. An ideal ecosystem that unites institutions, private investors and large companies with the aim of supporting the growth of the new technological and sustainable enterprise", stated the CEO of LVenture Group, Luigi Capello. "The Zero project has allowed integrate technical skills, testing, business model validation, co-innovation and innovative Venture Capital strategies. It aimed to create high-impact solutions, ready for the market and application in the territories", stated the Head of Strategy & Innovation by Elis Innovation Hub, Luciano De Propris.
