Former American President Donald Trump, who aims to become one again, broke his silence on Monday on the
“sudden”
death of Russian opponent Alexeï Navalny but refrained from mentioning Russian President Vladimir Putin to take on Joe Biden's administration.
The arch-favorite in the Republican primaries with a view to the November presidential election had not said or written a word about Navalny's death announced Friday in an Arctic prison, nor about Moscow nor the Kremlin.
In a message Monday on his Truth Social network, Donald Trump wrote:
“The sudden death of Alexei Navalny has made me increasingly aware of what is happening in our country.”
“It’s a slow and constant progression that is leading us on the path to destruction with crooked politicians, prosecutors and judges of the radical left
,” stormed the businessman and political tribune without mentioning the Russian president.
“A nation in decline and failing”
He attacked the administration of President Biden who succeeded him in January 2021.
“Open borders, rigged elections and downright unfair court decisions are destroying America.

,” concluded Donald Trump with his campaign slogans
“MAGA 2024”
in capital letters.
Nikki Haley, his only competitor in the Republican primaries, considered Sunday on ABC television that
“the fact that he says nothing about Navalny (shows) that either he sides with Putin and thinks that it is good that 'He's killing his political opponents, or he just doesn't think it's a big deal
. '
The death of Navalny, on which the Kremlin remains silent, provoked a wave of indignation from Western countries, with President Joe Biden having affirmed that his Russian counterpart was
“responsible”
for it .
