After many discussions and differences of opinion, the dog meeting project has now been realized: there is now a dog meadow in the Hallbergmoos sports and leisure park.

Hallbergmoos

– There is now a fenced off-leash area for dogs in the sports and leisure park.

The 1000 square meter field with play equipment for the Zamperl has now been officially opened: representatives of the community and Hundetreff eV ceremoniously cut the ribbon in front of the entrance to the dog meadow.

“The community does a lot for all population groups.

In this case, a project for citizens with dogs was realized,” said Mayor Josef Niedermair at the opening.

The path to the dog meadow was rocky and sometimes accompanied by atmospheric disturbances: in July 2020, the local council did not (yet) see a need for it and rejected an initiative by dog owners to do so.

Two years later, the opinion changed: In August 2022, a citizen's application was approved and in March 2023 it was approved.

Two months later the location and facilities were determined.

In August 2023, the Freising district office issued the building permit.

The “Dog Club” was founded in December 2022, as requested by the municipality.

After differences of opinion between the municipality and the association regarding the distribution of tasks were resolved - now anchored in a usage agreement between the municipality and the association - the dog meadow was completed in December after a week of “construction time”.

The municipality took over the initial equipment of the facility, including a 1.80 meter high wildlife protection fence, lockable gate, two benches, garbage containers, dog toilet and access bridge for a reasonable price of 10,000 euros.

Construction yard employees set up the space.

The association is now responsible for maintenance and care.

Only club members who can reserve a time of use are allowed to use the dog meadow.

To protect the neighbors, the pitch may only be used during the day and outside of lunchtime (12 p.m. to 2 p.m.).

“We have a very manageable membership fee,” says Hundetreff spokeswoman Stefanie Schütze – according to the homepage, 36 euros per year.

“Using the booking system on our website, you receive an access code that you can use to reserve the use of the space by the hour.

It doesn’t cost anything extra.” A maximum of six Zamperl are allowed onto the site at the same time during the pilot operation.
