Highlights: Given the cut by the Nation, in Chubut they created a teacher incentive fund with provincial resources. Governor Ignacio Torres communicated this to the unions this Monday. The measure will compensate salaries since February and is the first to be announced in a province, after Javier Milei put an end to the national contribution. "They cut off the funds, but they never had a serious discussion regarding fiscal matters. They were decisions made overnight, untimely," says D.S. Rodríguez Adami.

Governor Ignacio Torres communicated this to the unions this Monday. The measure will compensate salaries since February and is the first to be announced in a province, after Javier Milei put an end to the national contribution.

In the midst of the dispute between Javier Milei and the governors over the removal of trust funds

,

the governor of Chubut,

Ignacio “Nacho” Torres,

announced that what teachers will no longer receive from the

Teacher Incentive Fund (FONID)

will be compensated with own games.

Thus, it is the

first rule that is announced from a province

to defuse the conflict that unleashed the national measure.

Torres met this Monday with representatives of the different educational unions of Chubut and

guaranteed them the compensation

of said fund through the

payment of an economic bonus

with provincial resources.

With that objective, he announced the

creation of the

“Provincial Teacher Incentive”

to complement teacher salaries.

The governor specified, meanwhile, that the funds in question will be available

starting next March,

with the salaries corresponding to the month of February.

The meeting, held in the meeting room of the Ministry of Education of Chubut, also included the Government Ministers, Andrés Meiszner;

of Education, José Luis Punta;

and of Economy, Facundo Ball and the Secretary of Labor, Nicolás Zárate.

Since the failure of the Omnibus Law project for which the Government held the governors responsible, Casa Rosada stopped answering the phone to the provinces and moved forward with decisions that affected their resources.

Chubut then decided to anticipate a crisis and take up the gauntlet in the educational field, a

critical sector that had extensive conflicts

during the previous management of Massista Mariano Arcioni.

Javier Milei's cuts

and the provinces

The main measures against the governors had to do with

the removal of the Compensation Fund for transportation

and the refusal to continue the Teacher Incentive Fund.

"They cut off the funds, but they never had a

serious discussion regarding fiscal matters

. They were decisions made overnight, untimely. Suddenly they said: 'there is no more money for transportation or for the FONID.' to

all the governors in the same bag

, especially those from Together for Change, who were the ones who had supported them with the Omnibus Law", is the comment that arises from the opposition called ally/dialogue, which in the general vote supported the official initiative.

Torres had already got to work when the Government cut transportation subsidies.

The province went to court with a precautionary measure after the Government eliminated the Internal Compensation Fund, a state assistance that implied a 55% discount on the ticket fare.
