Hit-and-run after a traffic accident in Miesbach: cyclist damages two cars – police are looking for witnesses
As the Miesbach police station reports, on Friday evening around 10:30 p.m., a 26-year-old Miesbacher drove his Skoda on Rosenheimer Straße towards Miesbacher Stadtplatz.
In the Haindlberg area he wanted to turn left into a driveway, but had to brake first because of oncoming traffic.
“A cyclist who was behind obviously noticed this too late and, according to witness statements, drove into the rear of the Skoda without braking,” reports police chief Benedikt Thamm.
The impact shattered the rear window of the car.
Before the driver could get out of his car, the cyclist drove past him towards the town square.
During the overtaking process, according to police reports, he hit the left front of an oncoming Nissan driven by a 34-year-old.
However, the cyclist did not let this deter him and continued his journey and “then fled over Lebzelterberg and Fraunhofer Straße in the direction of Rathausstraße”.
The cyclist's trace was ultimately lost there.
There was material damage of around 900 euros to both vehicles.
The Miesbach police describe the cyclist and his bike as follows: “The bike is described as dark with silver stripes.
It has no lighting.
Damage could be in the area of the front bar, fork and handlebars.
The driver is described as male, around 175 cm tall, with dark hair and dark clothing.
Due to the first collision, it cannot be ruled out that the cyclist was injured.
This could have injuries around the head, face and hands.
Superficial cuts from glass splinters are also possible.
Anyone who observed a conspicuous cyclist in the area of Rathausstrasse and the surrounding area during the above-mentioned crime period or who can provide further relevant information about the incident should contact the Miesbach police on 08025/2990.
