Netanyahu: Israel will maintain full security control over the West Bank and Gaza
Netanyahu makes it clear: Israel will maintain full security control over the Gaza Strip and Judea and Samaria.
Thus, in a message published this evening on behalf of his office.
"For five months we have been running an unprecedented political campaign that has allowed our fighters the freedom of action to achieve all the goals of the war," he said in a statement.
"During this period, we fended off many international pressures aimed at stopping the war before all of its goals were achieved, while in recent days we have witnessed a new type of pressure: an attempt to unilaterally impose on us the establishment of a Palestinian state that would endanger the existence of the State of Israel."
"We reject it outright," clarified the Prime Minister, who added that he brought before the government a proposed resolution stating that Israel will oppose the attempt to unilaterally impose upon it the establishment of a Palestinian state, which will also be presented this evening as an agreed proposal for approval by the Knesset.
"Although there are different opinions within the government regarding the permanent settlement, this proposal was accepted unanimously and will receive an overwhelming majority," he claimed, "we are all united in the position that Israel must not submit to international dictates on such an existential matter."
With or without a permanent settlement, Israel will maintain security control west of Jordan.

"Even those who have different opinions agree that after October 7th we must make the decisions concerning our existence and our future ourselves," added the Prime Minister, and called on "all the Zionist parties" to vote in favor of the proposal.
"In any situation, with or without a permanent settlement, Israel will maintain Full security control over the entire area west of Jordan, including of course Judea and Samaria and the Gaza Strip," he clarified. "My position regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state was and remains clear.
It only got stronger after the terrible massacre of October 7."
