Since September 13, 2023, the Christian-Morgenstern Elementary School in Herrsching has been the first elementary school in the district to be fortunate enough to have a committed and versatile FSJ member, Korbinian Drexler, in its ranks.

By actively supporting the 17-year-old in numerous areas of application, he helps teachers and students and thus contributes to an enriching exchange.

Herrsching - FSJ stands for “Voluntary Social Year” and gives young people a first insight into working life after school.

The project in Herrsching runs in collaboration with the Vocational Training Center of the Bavarian Economy (BFZ) Munich and is financed by the “Do it” initiative.

The commitment of Wolfgang Bäder and Ottmar Flach from “Do it” not only enables the realization of this project, but also contributes significantly to ensuring that it is implemented with joy and success.

The children are happy about Korbinian

Korbinian not only goes through everyday school life, but also takes part in seminars on personality development, teamwork and career orientation.

These training courses are an integral part of his FSJ and help ensure that he is optimally prepared for his tasks.

His area of work extends from supporting students with learning difficulties in small groups or individual work to dealing with conflicts with students with behavioral problems.

The teachers experience a noticeable relief as Korbinian supports them with homework and leisure activities in the open all-day school (OGTS).

He also shows an attentive presence during breaks and bus supervision, which promotes peaceful coexistence among the children, which is why the trips have been noticeably quieter and more orderly since Korbinian's deployment.

A win for everyone involved

The lunchtime care from 1 p.m. offers another opportunity for Korbinian to demonstrate his commitment.

Here he not only helps with meals and homework, but also organizes meaningful leisure activities with the students.

The children are particularly happy about Korbinian.

Finally they have someone to whom they can read in peace and a young contact person for conflicts, problems or everyday things.

The collaboration between Korbinian and the Christian Morgenstern Elementary School is a win for everyone involved.

While the FSJ student gets an insight into school work, the teaching staff benefits from valuable and active support.

This exchange not only creates a positive learning environment, but also strengthens the sense of community at the school.

The school principal Katharina Casper is pleased about the successful integration of Korbinian and would like to thank everyone involved who made this project possible.

With his commitment, Korbinian contributes to school being a place not only for learning, but also for growing and creating together.
