Highlights: Parking garage in the old town is coming - but how? Wolfratshauser comes forward with a suggestion. Gardener Hans Gärtner has designed a parking deck on Hatzplatz - it should also impress visually with a chic wooden facade. The deck will have 121 parking spaces on two levels - around 50 more than before. The construction height should only be 1.7 meters above the current ground level because the area will be lowered - between 50 centimeters and 1.5 meters deep. The upper deck of the parking garage will be designed as a piazza and will be “suitable for a variety of events and markets”

Hans Gärtner has a vision.

The hunting area should not only be nice for cars, but also nice to look at.

The city wants a parking deck - and Gärtner has an idea.

Wolfratshausen – He did it again.

Only this time completely different.

Years ago, Hans Gärtner had submitted a draft of how, in his opinion, the Hatzplatz could be designed to be visually appealing and still offer more parking space.

The plans are outdated.

As reported, the city council decided at a closed meeting to consider building a parking garage.

Particularly in focus: the hunting area.

At the city council meeting this Tuesday (see box on the right), the parking issue is again an issue.

Parking spaces in Wolfratshausen Old Town: Hans Gärtner has a plan

Hans Gärtner has worked on something again.

The former spokesman for the SPD local association doesn't just want to see a concrete block in front of the gates of the old town.

He envisions “a solution with a low construction height, embedded in the overall design of the square with 121 parking spaces and many advantages,” as he himself wrote in an email to our editorial team.

Shopping in Wolfratshausen - this requires new parking spaces

In the past, all Hatzplatz plans failed either because people didn't like the construction - as was the case with the recent attempt by a Tölz company - or because of the economic component.

Gärtner's idea includes 121 parking spaces on two levels - around 50 more than before.

And the initiator sees even further advantages of the steel construction: The construction height should only be 1.7 meters above the current ground level because the area will be lowered - between 50 centimeters and 1.5 meters deep.

Gärtner considers the construction costs to be “comparatively low”, partly because the deck can be designed using system components.

The cladding is sustainable with larch wood, and the gardener is planning plants on the west side - i.e. towards the old town.

Because of the pleasing design, the Wolfratshauser assumes that funds will also flow from urban development funding and thus relieve the burden on the city's treasury.

The stream at Hatzplatz could be emphasized more and the access could be simplified.

More than just a parking garage: Gardener's plan for the Hatzplatz combines practical and visual aspects

To make the new building even more attractive, Gärtner has other ideas: the small stream should be exposed and become more of a focus.

The upper deck of the parking garage will be designed as a piazza and will therefore be “suitable for a variety of events and markets”.

Gärtner developed his idea - as it says in a presentation - with suggestions and the cooperation of SPD city councilor Manfred Menke.

The Wolfratshauser sent the draft to the mayor and members of the city council last Friday.

Parking spaces in Wolfratshausen: City council wants to commission an inspection on Tuesday evening

The fact that there must be a solution to the annoying parking problem is the top priority for Gärtner: “After many failed attempts, we must now succeed in taking the decisive step forward,” he writes.

Those responsible owe this to the citizens of Wolfratshausen.

Nevertheless, he admits that “not all factions will be completely happy with everything.”

A gardener is a person of conviction.

He has been dedicated to parking space planning for over ten years, has prepared several “studies” and designed the much-noticed “Gardener Plan” for Hatzplatz.

It was a ground-level expansion of the area.
