The Beit Midrash for Rabbis in Berlin, and the community next to it, were founded nearly one hundred and fifty years ago by the Gaon Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer, zt'l. During its years of existence, the Beit Midrash trained hundreds of students, many of whom were appointed rabbis and Torah teachers in Israeli communities. The Beit Midrash operated until Kristallnacht.
