The river festival is scheduled to take place again in Wolfratshausen in 2025.

The city's cultural committee voted for a new edition of the event.

Wolfratshausen – 6,086 visitors came to the 15 river festival events at the old Floßlände last July.

“There were probably even more,” believes the city’s cultural manager Andreas Kutter.

Because of the free entry and high fluctuation, the number could only be roughly estimated at 1,000 at the family day organized together with the children's and youth support association.

Before the Committee for Culture, Youth, Sport and Social Affairs, Kutter recently provided further convincing arguments for a new edition of the river festival, which has taken place every two years since 2013.

Supported by the city's event manager Katharina Roßkopf and a large team of volunteers, Andreas Kutter took over sole management for the first time.

Most of the program had previously been put together by his predecessor Marlene Schretzenmaier.

“Thanks to the sunny weather, things went really well,” said Kutter with satisfaction.

Due to the financial support from a large number of sponsors, the deficit (see below) remained manageable.

“The river festival once again attracted national attention and great interest,” stated the cultural manager.

Third Mayor Annette Heinloth (Greens), who chaired the meeting on behalf of Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner, praised Kutter for his “very hands-on manner”.

Group colleague Peter Lobenstein regretted that he had missed the festival due to his vacation.

“The Opera Tent in particular has become a brand for Wolfratshausen,” he noted.

Cultural advisor Sepp Schwarzenbach (CSU), Manfred Menke (SPD) and Dr.

Manfred Fleischer (Wolfratshauser List).

“Chapeau, keep it up,” Fleischer raised his thumb.

Dr.

Patrick Lechner (FDP) saw it the same way, but asked about the efficiency of the individual marketing measures.

“It’s very difficult to determine because we have many different strategies,” admitted Kutter.

In addition to advertising in print and online media, he also provided press material with background stories on the performing artists.

Helmuth Holzheu (civil association) did not want to raise the question of costs.

“It has to be worth the money for us to put on a great festival,” he said.

The city council's culture committee then unanimously commissioned the mayor to plan the next river festival in 2025.

Budget funds of 250,000 euros must be made available for this.
